What is BigIdeasDB Clipper?
BigIdeasDB Clipper is a Chrome extension available exclusively to BigIdeasDB Pro members. It sits in your browser toolbar and lets you copy any webpage in three formats with a single click — or right-click from the context menu.
Three Copy Modes
- Markdown: Full Markdown with headings, lists, tables, links, and code blocks preserved. Uses Turndown.js for industry-standard HTML-to-Markdown conversion.
- LLM Format: Strips navigation, sidebars, ads, images, forms, and other noise. Wraps the clean content in structured
<context>tags with the page title and URL. This is what LLMs actually want to see. - Plain Text: Just the text content. No formatting, no markup. Cleaned whitespace and no boilerplate.
Send to Claude or ChatGPT in One Click
Clipper does not just copy. It can also open a new conversation in Claude or ChatGPT and automatically paste the page content into the chat input. The workflow is simple: click "Send to Claude" and a new tab opens with your content ready to go. No more switching tabs, copying, pasting, and cleaning up formatting.

Clipboard History
Every copy you make is saved locally in the extension — similar to the Windows Win+V clipboard history. Switch to the History tab in the popup to see all your past copies. Each entry shows the page title, format used, and how long ago it was copied. Click any entry to copy it again instantly. Everything is stored locally in your browser and never sent to any server.
Right-Click Context Menu
You do not even need to open the popup. Right-click anywhere on a page and select BigIdeasDB Clipper from the context menu. Choose your format and the content is copied with a toast notification confirming success.
Privacy First
All page parsing happens entirely in your browser. The only network request Clipper makes is a single call to verify your Pro membership. No page content is ever sent to our servers. Your clipboard history is stored in Chrome's local storage and never leaves your machine.
How to Install
- Make sure you have an active BigIdeasDB Pro subscription
- Download the Clipper extension from your BigIdeasDB dashboard
- Open
chrome://extensions/in Chrome - Enable "Developer mode" in the top right corner
- Click "Load unpacked" and select the extension folder
- The Clipper icon appears in your toolbar — you are ready to go
