BigIdeasDB Clipper is a Chrome extension that converts any webpage into formats optimized for AI assistants, note-taking, and documentation. Instead of copying messy HTML with navigation bars, ads, and broken formatting, Clipper gives you clean, structured output.

The extension is available exclusively to BigIdeasDB Pro members. It verifies your membership automatically when you open it — no separate login required.

Copy modes explained

Markdown mode converts the entire page to properly formatted Markdown. Headings, lists, tables, code blocks, links, and images are all preserved. This is ideal for saving content to notes, documentation, or knowledge bases.

LLM format is designed specifically for AI assistants. It strips navigation, sidebars, footers, ads, images, forms, and other noise. The clean content is wrapped in structured context tags with the page title and URL. This format helps LLMs process the content efficiently without wasting tokens on irrelevant elements.

Plain text mode extracts only the text content with no formatting or markup. Whitespace is cleaned and boilerplate is removed. Use this when you need raw text for processing or simple copy-paste workflows.

Send to AI assistants

Clipper includes dedicated buttons to send page content directly to Claude or ChatGPT. When you click Send to Claude or Send to ChatGPT, Clipper copies the page in LLM format, opens a new conversation in the selected AI assistant, and automatically pastes the content into the chat input.

This creates a seamless research workflow. Find a relevant article, click one button, and start asking the AI questions about the content immediately.

Clipboard history

Every copy you make is saved locally in the extension, similar to the Windows clipboard history feature. Open the History tab in the popup to browse all past copies. Each entry shows the page title, format used, and time since copying.

Click any history entry to copy it to your clipboard again instantly. You can also delete individual entries or clear the entire history. All data is stored in Chrome local storage and never sent to any server.

Privacy and data handling

All page parsing happens entirely in your browser. Clipper makes a single network request to verify your Pro membership. No page content, clipboard history, or browsing data is ever sent to BigIdeasDB servers or any third party.
