Om Patel

Founder, BigIdeasDB

Om Patel is the founder of BigIdeasDB, a research suite that analyzes over 1M complaints, reviews, and discussions to help founders find, validate, and build products people actually want. He designed the platform's complaint-analysis methodology and authors its original research, including the LLM pain-point-extraction benchmark.

First-hand experience

Om built BigIdeasDB from a founder's own problem: idea validation was slow, expensive, and mostly guesswork. Rather than ask people whether they would pay, he built pipelines that read what people already complain about at scale across Reddit, G2, Capterra, the app stores, and Upwork, then score those complaints by severity and market gap.

That work turned into original research on how well large language models extract pain points from real software feedback, and into ongoing studies of SaaS pain points, market saturation, revenue benchmarks, and where venture capital is flowing.
