Ask for the cut you need. We pull it.
The site shows you a slice. Behind it sit over a million rows of reviews, complaints, job demand and revenue data. Describe the rows and columns you want and we send back the file.
What it is
What is a data request?
A data request is a bulk cut of the BigIdeasDB corpus, pulled to order and delivered as a file. You name a dataset, describe the rows and columns you want, add the filters that narrow it, and pick CSV, JSON, or Excel. We run the query and email you the result. It is included with Pro.
The site and the BigIdeasDB MCP server expose a slice of what we hold: enough to search, filter, and research inside the product. A data request exists for the cut that neither one reaches. Every G2 product in a category with its review counts attached. Every Capterra complaint under three stars in a vertical, with the full review text. Every Upwork job post naming a specific integration. Those are hundreds of clicks to assemble by hand, and one sentence to ask for.
Requests can span a single source or join several. The datasets available include G2 and Capterra reviews, Apple App Store and Google Play reviews, Upwork job demand, Reddit pain points and solution requests, Product Hunt launches, the Stripe Index of companies taking payments, Funded DB portfolio companies, SellSide DB acquisition listings, and TrustMRR revenue data.
Data Requests is a Pro feature. Free, Lite, and Basic members can see it in the app, but submitting a request needs a Pro plan. You can have five requests open at once, and every one of them carries a visible status plus an email at each step. The full guide to writing a request covers what makes a cut fast to fill.
Counts are live row totals from the BigIdeasDB corpus, rounded down. They cover the largest tables only. The full cross-source corpus runs past a million rows. See the data sources overview and the research methodology for how each source is collected and scored.
Bulk data, on request
Skip the UI. Just ask for the file.
Some cuts would take hundreds of clicks to assemble by hand. Describe one instead and we run it for you.
Describe it in plain English
No query language, no schema to learn. Write the rows and columns you want the way you would explain it to a person, then add the filters that narrow it down.
Any dataset we hold
If it is in the corpus, you can ask for it. One source or several joined together.
CSV, JSON or Excel
Pick the format that fits how you actually work with data.
Tracked from ask to file
Every request carries a status and a thread you can reply on. You get an email each time it moves, and a download link the moment it lands.
Five open requests at a time. Cancel a pending one whenever you want.
What you can pull from
The whole corpus is on the table
Reviews, complaints, freelance demand, funded companies, live-on-Stripe businesses, and verified revenue. Ask for one source or a cut that spans several.

Example requests
What a request actually looks like
Three real shapes of ask, and the file each one produces. Yours does not have to look like any of them.
How it works
From ask to file in three steps
Describe the cut
Pick a dataset, write the rows and columns you want, add the filters that narrow it, choose a format.
We pull it
We scope the query and run it. If the ask is ambiguous we come back on the thread rather than guess.
Download the file
The file appears on your request and in your inbox, ready for a sheet, a notebook, or a model.
FAQ
Frequently asked
A data request is a bulk cut of the BigIdeasDB corpus, pulled to order. The site and the MCP server expose a slice of what we hold. If the rows and columns you need are not reachable through the UI or the tools, you describe the cut you want and we run it and send you the file.
Anything in the corpus. G2 and Capterra reviews and pain points, Upwork job demand, Apple App Store and Google Play reviews, Reddit pain points and solution requests, Product Hunt launches, Stripe Index companies, funded company profiles, sell-side listings, and TrustMRR revenue data. A single request can also span several datasets at once.
Name the dataset, describe the rows and columns you want, and add the filters that narrow it down: categories, keywords, date ranges, minimum review counts, countries. Full review text makes a file much larger, so only ask for it if you plan to analyse it. Telling us the use case helps too, because we can often suggest a better cut than the one you asked for.
CSV, JSON, or Excel (.xlsx). Pick whichever fits your workflow when you submit the request.
Five at a time. A request counts as open while it is pending, in review, in progress, or waiting on more info from you. Once it is fulfilled, declined, or cancelled it frees up a slot.
It depends on the cut. A straightforward pull from one dataset is quick. A cross-source request with heavy review text takes longer to assemble. Every request moves through a visible status, and you get an email each time it changes, so you are never guessing where it stands.
Yes. Data Requests is part of the BigIdeasDB Pro plan, alongside the full database access, the hosted MCP server, Revenue Intelligence, Funded DB, Stripe Index, and SellSide DB. Free, Lite, and Basic members can see the entry point in the app but need Pro to submit.
