How billing works

Paid plans are billed through Stripe on the cycle you choose. Monthly and yearly billing are both available, and yearly saves versus paying monthly. Because Stripe handles payment, your card details are stored with Stripe rather than on our servers.

Your plan renews automatically at the end of each cycle using the card on file, so there is nothing to do to stay active. A monthly plan renews each month and a yearly plan renews once a year, each on the date you first subscribed. If a renewal charge does not go through, Stripe will retry it, so keeping a valid card on file is the simplest way to avoid any interruption.

Finding your invoices and receipts

Invoices and receipts are available through the Stripe customer portal, which you open from the account and billing area of your dashboard. From the portal you can view your billing history, download individual invoices, and update your payment method.

Receipts by email

Stripe can email a receipt for each payment. If you are missing one, open the customer portal to download it directly.

Adding business details to invoices

If you are expensing BigIdeasDB or claiming it as a business cost, you can add the details your finance team needs directly in the Stripe customer portal. Stripe lets you set a billing name, company name, address, and, where applicable, a tax or VAT number, and those details appear on the invoices you download.
